What to expect of the Postcard Post as an auctioneer
Over the years I have had to develop certain standards regarding the auction which would be fair to those who participate. My auction was born a lot of  years ago and was entirely by mail.  There was no feedback on a current auction, so bidders were urged to bid the highest they would be willing to pay for an item and it was left that way.  Today, most of my bidders are still mail-only bidders.  It would be unfair to them if I were to give info on a current auction to people who have access to the Internet.  Therefore, I still conduct the auction as before, not giving information to anyone while the auction is active.  That way, everyone has an equal chance and no one has a unfair advantage.  I can tell you that I deal with cards that are RARE. And that auctions in the past several years have brought AVERAGES to around $50 per card in the auctions.  Some cards may go for as low as $20 while others may go for over $200.  Most auctions in the past year have had at least one card go for more than $100.  So the recommendation that bidders should bid the highest they'd be willing to pay for a card, is still valid.  That way if they win, everything is fine.  If they don't, they wouldn't have been willing to pay more anyway.  Winning bidders receive the auction results.  Here are the standards I have had to develop over the years:
